Obsessed With Pets Since Day One

I moved to the UAE almost ten years ago, and somewhere between building a career and building a life here, I became the kind of person who worried more about who was looking after my Shih Tzu, Tito, and my cat, Toto, than about almost anything else. Every trip I took, I went through the same anxious routine: searching for someone trustworthy, hoping for the best, never quite feeling at ease. That worry is where Pet Watch began.

I didn't want to build another convenience app. I wanted to build something genuinely useful — a platform that made pet care easier, safer, more transparent, and accessible to everyone, while also opening up real income opportunities for people who love animals but can't commit to a standard nine-to-six job: students, homemakers, anyone looking for meaningful, flexible work. In the UAE's fast-paced, career-driven environment, I saw a gap: no single platform covered the full spectrum of pet-sitting needs, and no one was building the kind of community-driven trust that pet owners actually needed.

So we built it, deliberately and sometimes slowly. We chose rigorous verification over speed, even when people pushed back on how much information we asked for. We built the Pet Watch Academy because good intentions aren't enough — sitters need real training before they earn a pet owner's trust. None of it was the fastest path, but it was the honest one.

I won't pretend this has been easy. I returned to work a month after having my son, taking calls with him in my arms, building a company and raising a child at the same time — some days barely holding both together. But that experience taught me the same lesson Tito and Toto did: care is about showing up, consistently, even when it's hard.

Pet Watch exists because I needed it myself, before I knew I was building it for anyone else. That's still what drives every decision we make.
